CROSS OVER first international event: “What is the European Union?”
Research around the world shows the low involvement of youth in electoral processes, and this is confirmed in Croatia. In order to encourage citizens, especially young people, to participate to the next elections and actively engage in political processes,a conference will be organized in occasion of the event “What is the European Union?” and it will be held at Hotel International in Zagreb, Croatia on 4 th of February.
The event is organised by the Croatian County Association in cooperation with AGORA CE and will bring together representatives of the European institutions, civil society associations and experts from different countries to exchange knowledge, experience and good practices. The event is part of the CROSS OVER project, co-funded by the Europe for Citizens programme. The project aims at encouraging young people to reflect on political accountability through increased participation in the elections for the European Parliament. The basic idea of the project is to devise and stimulate actions that will effectively solve the lack of interest of youth in voting at the European level.
