RECOV: Second Local Path in the Municipalities of Grosuplje, Ivancna Gorica and Dobrepolje
The second local path in the project RECOV was implemented within the local event Cycling Marathon of 3 Communities - Family Marathon - a sports and social event traditionally held in the municipality of Grosuplje, Slovenia. This year it took place on 2 June 2019, and was organised in collaboration with the Cycling Association Prokuplje and the Institute for Tourism and Promotion “Grosuplje Torusim”.
The 350 participants, many of whom were young people, started the marathon from Kolodvorska Street. They could then choose to go on a road marathon on various routes, a family marathon, or a hike to Magdalenska Mountain. The shorter route was 16 km and the longer 27 km, with a short stopover at Castle Garden Bostanj for refreshment and socialization.
The representatives of the municipality of Grosuplje presented RECOV: REthinking COllaborative Values for Public Services to the participants of the activities at the dedicated stand of the project.
The successful completion of the event showed that by encouraging citizens to participate more and by actively involving them in local events and activities, we also promote the openness of the local administration for development and cooperation, thereby contributing to a more inclusive and democratic society.
This activity is part of the project RECOV: REthinking COllaborative Values for Public Services, supported by the European programme Europe for Citizens.
