Practical actions: training and planning local solutions in Cimișlia
As part of the project "KAS - Empowering local authorities and civil society to deliver solutions with Participative Democracy" supported by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and promoted by ALDA and LDAs Moldova, Dnipro and Mariupol, on January 22nd to 24th, 2020 ALDA Fundraising & External Relations Manager Sofia Corsi delivered a training on participatory democracy in Cimișlia, together with ALDA Secretary-General Antonella Valmorbida and Nicolae Hristov, delegate of LDA Moldova.
The training addressed 20 participants among representatives of the local civil society (school, public library, etc.) and of the City of Cimislia, namely civil servants and city councilors.
The first day of the training was dedicated to an introduction on the added values of participatory democracy; several group activities were implemented to map and describe the role of local stakeholders with regards to specific local problems.
The following day, the participants worked on the identification of local problems and priorities and the description of the four levels of participation: information, consultation, dialogue, partnership. Examples from Cimislia and from other contexts were discussed, and the group was involved in the simulation of a real consultation using participatory methods.
Finally, the third day was dedicated to the group-drafting of an action plan to address the problem of the weak public transportation.
Later this year, the participants will be invited to present a follow-up of the training during the final conference of the project, which will take place in Chisinau, in collaboration with the AGREED project.
