Integration through theatre in Mostar with IMPACT
From January 24th to 25th, 2020 the Local Democracy Agency Mostar implemented a local activity within the IMPACT project, funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
In cooperation with the Mostarski Teatar Mladih, local workshops saw a theatre as their location and tool for integration; the beneficiaries of were displaced people, migrants from Refugee Camp Salakovac and the youth of Mostar.
Together, they learned, created, worked, sang, danced and played. They lived together, too, in a true understanding of the meaning of International Migrants Day and the message it wants to convey.
The main goal of “IMPACT – Inclusion Matters! using Performing Arts towards Cohesion and Tolerance” is fostering social inclusion by developing art strategies, techniques and methodologies which target refugees and citizens at the local level.
The project is implemented by VIFIN – Videnscenter for Integration in cooperation with ALDA, La Piccionaia – Centre for theatre production, LDA Montenegro, LDA Mostar, Coalition of youth organizations SEGA, Association for Developing Voluntary Work Novo Mesto (DRPDNM) and Urban Development Center, and it is supported by the Erasmus + program of the European Union.
