The aim of the project is to involve disadvantaged youngsters from rural areas in their territories' life and to provide them with a deep understanding of their areas' economic and environmental demands as well as of their potential role in local public life. As many as 280 participants aged 15-25 from 7 rural communities in 5 different countries (Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Estonia) have been educated in being active citizens and in promoting environmental protection and organic production as means to foster the economic development of their territory. By providing these young people with professional contacts of organic farmers and training them on ICT tools, the project has been contributing to promote their access into the labour market, too.
The Strasbourg event will gather together more than 100 young participants from the 5 countries aforementioned and local youngsters to share experience and good practices on youth participation in community’s life. It will also be an occasion for exchanging professional contacts and get to know more about traineeship opportunities abroad in the organic sector.
