ALDA’s Work in Moldova
As part of ALDA’s efforts to develop is presence in all of the six Eastern Partnership countries, it is currently working towards the opening of the LDA in Moldova in partnership with its main partner in the country, the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova (CALM).
Against this background, in October 2015 ALDA organised a side event on the margins of a session of the Council of Europe’s Congress of Local and Regional Authorities with a view to look for partners to join the LDA with a view to its opening in 2016. Similarly to other LDAs, the Moldovan LDA will advocate for good governance, cooperation between local authorities and civil society, as well as enabling citizen participation in local decision-making processes.
