LDA at the final conference of the InArco project
. final conference of the InArco project will be taking place next Thursday, 5th December at the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels. The event will be bringing together representatives of the partner organisations as well as key stakeholders in the field of cross border work in the Alpine Arch countries such as representatives of the European Institutions, Trade Union associations and social security institutions. The aim of the meeting is to disclose and to share the results of the activities carried out throughout the period of the project.
As one of the main actors within the partnership, ALDA will contribute to the outcomes of the activity as already did in the previous seminars. Aldo Xhani, project manager, will represent ALDA within the first Round Table on “Cross-border work: Obstacles and Proposals” and will showcase the key role of local authorities and civil society organisations in promoting a more sustainable cross-border work. In particular, workers’ rights will be analysed within the framework of the European Year of Citizens 2013. Furthermore, the outcomes of the European and Italian alliances, of which ALDA is an initiator, to promote citizens’ rights will be deeply showcased.
The second panel will be dedicated to the “Debate and Analysis of the Recommendations for regulating cross border work”. Key European decision-makers such as the European Commission, represented by Mr Francisco Perez Flores from the DG Employment, Inclusion and Social Affairs and Ms Mercedes Bresso, Vice President of the Committee of the Regions will be called to analyse and debate the recommendations drafted throughout the project.
The final conference will therefore be a key step to reaching the final goal of the project, that is to analyse and deepen the experience of cross border workers against the existing complex legal framework set in regulation 883/2004. The analysis led the partnership to mapping the issues and criticisms, to elaborate information and to develop a dissemination strategy. Questions connected to the enforcement of the legislation were raised throughout the seminars, in the light of the concrete experience, and answered with a view to developing a deep knowledge and consciousness of the legislative datum for cross border workers, trade unions, local authorities, social security institutions, information points and other stakeholders involved.
