On Monday 23 May 2016, the Stand Hub! took place at the Youth Centre, Pejë, Kosovo, in the framework of the project Balkan Regional Platform for Youth Participation and Dialogue.

In the framework of the “Youth Taking Over Day”, activity from the project Balkan Regional Platform for Youth Participation and Dialogue, the Local Democracy Agency Kosovo and the lead partner Associazione Trentino con i Balcani organized this useful workshop, focusing on these topics that are of great importance for the country, and for the other countries of the former Yugoslavia. The activities were done in cooperation with the Humanitarian Law Centre of Kosovo and based on their project of the non-formal education focusing on dealing with the past.
HLC Kosovo (Humanitarian Law Centre in Kosovo) is working since 2011 throughout Kosovo to reach high school and university students and to inform them about Transitional Justice mechanisms. The overall goal of the project is to include the TJ education as part of the official high school curricula. In addition to the official education institutions, HLC Kosovo also works with NGOs that work on dealing with the past and youth organizations.
It is important to keep the Kosovo’s public, especially secondary school students, aware and active on understanding transitional justice principles, and in addition, promoting the importance of the implementation of transitional justice mechanisms such as: criminal prosecutions, reparations, institutional reforms and truth commissions.
Based on the activity on transitional justice and dealing with the past, that LDA Kosovo and the Humanitarian Law Centre in Kosovo organised the Stand Hub!, held in the Youth Centre of Peja. During the event, the activity called: Regional Skype panels took place, including the 8 Local Youth Advisory Groups (LYAG), and more than 80 participants, responding to an objective from The Youth Platform.
The aim of this activity is to enable more structures and more frequent direct exchanges of opinions and contacts between youngsters from the region, with a more prominent role given to eight Local Youth Advisory Groups. Furthermore, the implementation of this activity aims to increase opportunities for additional inclusion of youngsters with fewer opportunities in regional activities, since it is open for all the interested young people from the participating communities.
These panels enable discussion, exchange of practices and comparative cross-cultural views on selected common topics relevant for youth in the region. Particular attention is put the topics related to the most vulnerable youth, while one of the topics will be connected with the theme of the European Year 2016. Each panel was filmed and will be uploaded on the website of the Regioonal Platform in order to inform a wider public as well.
