Alessandro Perelli is ALDA’s Vice President and a member of the Governing Board, representing Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, Italy.
Since 1980 he was working at the Regional Council and since 1999 at the International Relations Department of the Council where he has dealt with projects and international cooperation agreements until August 2017. Since 2000, when the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region joined ALDA, Mr Perelli followed the associative life on behalf of the region within ALDA, being part of the Governing Board, where he is acting since 2016 as Vice President.
He is particularly concerned with the Mediterranean area and the creation of the new Local Democracy Agencies in Tunisia and Morocco. Also, Mr Perelli followed the activities of the Agencies in Verteneglio, in Croatian Istria and Gyumri in Armenia with which the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region is associated and Niksic in Montenegro with which the Region he represents is a leading partner.
He participated in the preparatory work of the newly established Balkan Network for Local Democracy (BNLD) by carrying out promotional activities of ALDA as ambassador organising conferences including one in Lecce with the presence of local authorities and associations and one at the University of Trieste together with the Serbian Youth Association.
Also, on behalf of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, Mr Perelli has joined the National Consultative Commission on the new cooperation law and of the National interregional working group, dealing in particular with the issue of the accession of the Western Balkan countries to the European Union and the creation of a single market, continuing the cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce even after his retirement.
Moreover, Mr Perelli carried out political activity as a municipal councillor and councillor of Trieste, with which he still cooperates by writing foreign policy articles for the newspaper Avanti! online. He is also president of the Cultural Association “Socialisti liberali triestini”.
