François holds masters degrees in Sociology and Medical Anthropology, from Belgium and the UK. Early on, François was interested in democracy in action, as he focused on the proximity the state offers to their citizens in Justice Courts (justice de paix), AIDS Receptions Centre, and in medical houses (maisons médicales) among an audience coming from a different cultural background. He made ethnographies on access to healthcare for an integrated medical center, on medical pluralism, and cultural diversity in private law.
François has thereafter worked in project management with the European Commission, NGOs, and International Corporations in South Africa and Belgium over the past years where he built an expertise about migration, youth, IT and health. He is now managing the Climate of Change campaign for France and Belgium which focuses on raising awareness about climate-induced migrants, and the Perceptions project that is dedicated to understanding how social media shape migrants (mis)perceptions about Europe. François is a native French speaker and he is fluent in English and Dutch.
