Since 2017, Sofia Corsi is the Fundraising and External Relations Manager at ALDA - European Association for Local Democracy. Sofia is very much involved and passionate about creating new partnerships and support small organisations in finding solutions to their local problems by bridging organisations and stakeholders working on the same issues. Sometimes she delivers trainings on project cycle management, European and private funding opportunities, fundraising strategies and participatory democracy.
During her previous work experience she spent over three years in Colombia, working as Executive Director of "Corporación Hector Abad Gomez", a local Colombian organisation focused on post-conflict and peace and community values’ education projects. In Colombia, she was also the Head of the Development Department of the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra. While keeping a focus on fundraising and social marketing, Sofia developed strategies to promote social development and integration using symphonic music as a mean to produce social change. Her studies focused on migration policies and Arabic culture and language. She actually graduated in Intercultural and linguistic Mediation at "University per Stranieri" di Siena, obtaining the qualification of honor. Later, she completed a master degree in International Cooperation for Development and another in International Relations at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Sofia is fluent in Italian, Spanish, English, French, while she studied Arabic for over 5 years.
