AFCCRE

Description

Bringing together 1,200 local authorities of all levels, AFCCRE – French Association of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, is a recognised point of contact for European and national institutions and a unique centre of exchange and discussion for local politicians and officials.
On January 23rd, 2020, ALDA and AFCCRE signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding in Orléans (France) with the aim to work together on promoting the European project and respect for local and regional self-government; promoting good European practices and exchanges of experience between local and regional authorities in the context of good governance; affirming the principles of gender equality; promoting decentralised cooperation; and supporting the prospect of the Balkan countries joining the European Union.
Both Associations share the same ambition of enabling local communities to face the enormous challenges of the present and the future knowing that they (we!) have the duty and the privilege of being close to the citizens.
