Rita joins ALDA as Head of Implementation Unit in February 2022. She is responsible for the overall management of all ongoing projects and various project managers of the Association, to ensure a unified, consistent and coherent action of ALDA.
Rita is an experienced manager and unit coordinator within an Italian Association of Local Authorities for Sustainable Development (FELCOS Umbria), where she had responsibilities linked to international project/programme design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, team coordination and cross-cultural networking.
In her 8-years professional experience, she has been committed to strengthening citizen participation, good governance and local authorities’ accountability on sustainable development. She managed various regional and international projects mainly funded by UNDP (United Nations Development Program) and the European Union (EuropAid, DEAR, Erasmus+, Europe for Citizens, AMIF) and coordinated two working units, specifically dedicated to i) Development Education on Awareness Raising, and ii) SDGs localisation through an integrated and participatory approach for local development policy. She was Research fellow on territorial heritage valorisation and community planning in 2015 and Assistant lecturer for six years in the Course on Urban planning for Development Cooperation at the University of Florence.
She holds a PhD in Urban and Territorial Planning and a Master’s Degree in Architecture in the University of Florence.
