HILL Project Event

HILL Project Event – Exploring the Natural Heritage of Monte di Malo

On 4 December 2025, the HILL Project Event will take place in Monte di Malo, marking the conclusion of a multi-year initiative dedicated to the enhancement, conservation, and participatory promotion of the area’s Natura 2000 natural heritage. The HILL Project Event celebrates the results achieved through community engagement, scientific research, and artistic interpretation of the underground environments of the Monte di Malo karst system.

The evening will open at 20:00 with greetings from Mayor Mosè Squarzon, followed by the presentation of the participatory pathway led by Luisa Dal Prà (ALDA Italia). This process has involved citizens, local organisations, experts, and young people in exploring the environmental, cultural, and historical value of the Monte di Malo landscape.

The programme continues with the launch of the new publication “Soprattutto sotto: Ricerca e studio sul carsismo nell’altopiano Faedo–Casaron (Monte di Malo, VI)”, presented by authors Marcello Manea and Matteo Scapin. The volume offers an accessible yet scientifically grounded journey inside the karstic heart of the territory, highlighting decades of research and fieldwork.

At 20:50, Michele Ferretto (Biosphaera) will introduce the crowdfunding campaign supporting future environmental education and local heritage initiatives connected to the project.

The event will conclude with the inauguration of the art exhibition “SOPRATTUTTO DENTRO – Evoluzioni artistiche della grotta interiore”, featuring works by Lisa Battistel and photographs by Federico Bruttomesso. The exhibition translates the underground world into an artistic narrative that blends nature, science, and visual expression.

The HILL project, supported by Fondazione Cariverona and implemented with partners including ALDA Italia, Grotte di Monte di Malo, Museo Civico di Malo, and Biosphaera, aims to protect biodiversity, raise awareness of karst ecosystems, and promote active citizenship through cultural and scientific engagement.
