Location: Congo (Democratic Republic of)
Objective: The overall objective of this call for proposals is to improve the health and well-being of the population, and in particular women, girls and vulnerable groups, including internally displaced persons, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The specific objectives of this call for proposals are:
- (SO1) To prevent GBV by bringing about a lasting transformation of social norms, family and community dynamics, by strengthening individual and collective psychosocial well-being, and by promoting effective, voluntary and informed access to available protection and justice mechanisms.
- (SO2) To strengthen access for women and girls, including those in situations of displacement, to integrated and gender-sensitive health services (GBV, SRH, mental health), supported by clear, safe and operational referral mechanisms, enabling referral to shelters and legal/judicial assistance services, in accordance with regional and international commitments on women’s rights (Maputo Protocol).
- (SO3) Strengthen institutional capacity, the quality of care—including mental health and psychosocial support—and the accountability of the health system in order to prevent abuse, guarantee the dignity and rights of female patients, and sustainably institutionalise gender-sensitive and rights-based health services.
