CiD circular design urban transformation

CiD Final Conference – Circular Design for Urban Transformation

From 28 to 30 May 2026, the CiD Final Conference – Circular Design for Urban Transformation will take place in Hannover, Germany, bringing together researchers, architects, urban planners and practitioners to explore how circular approaches can contribute to the transformation of cities and urban spaces.

Organised within the framework of the CiD – Circular Design Innovation Alliance project, the conference will focus on how cities can evolve through regeneration, adaptation and sustainable urban transformation, rather than continuous expansion.

The programme is structured around three thematic tracks:

  • Circular Regeneration – architectural assets and urban spaces;
  • Circular Constellations – actors, entrepreneurship and urban networks;
  • Circular Processes – participation, governance and urban strategies.

Participants will engage in roundtables, keynote lectures, fishbowl discussions, site visits and interactive sessions, including the CiD Lab, creating opportunities for exchange and collaboration among professionals and stakeholders working on sustainable urban futures.

The event offers a valuable opportunity to discuss innovative approaches to circular design and to reflect on the future of more resilient, inclusive and sustainable cities.
