The Social Technologies Agency (STA) is a public association based in Kyrgyzstan, established in 1995 as an informal initiative group bringing together experts in interactive training from diverse fields, including sociology, philosophy, ecology, and history.
Over the years, STA has developed extensive experience in the design and implementation of projects addressing key societal challenges. Its areas of work include women’s rights and gender equality, youth leadership, environmental protection, civic education, and the inclusion of national minorities. The organisation has collaborated with a wide range of international partners, contributing to impactful initiatives at both local and national levels.
Today, the Social Technologies Agency (STA) is recognised as one of the leading women’s organisations in Kyrgyzstan. It plays an important role in advancing gender equality policies and strengthening the women’s movement across the country, while promoting inclusive participation and democratic values.
Through its activities, STA contributes to empowering communities, fostering active citizenship, and supporting inclusive governance—principles that strongly align with ALDA’s mission to promote local democracy and citizen participation.
