Families of missing and fallen Ukrainian defenders recently gathered in Slavuta, Ukraine, for a dedicated support initiative aimed at promoting connection, resilience and mutual support.

Hosted at the Robohoroshko Development Centre, the event provided a safe and welcoming environment where families could share their experiences, find comfort in one another and strengthen their sense of community.

The initiative was organised by the NGO Love in Action in partnership with LDA Mariupol.

While children took part in creative workshops and explored robotics, LEGO, virtual reality, PlayStation and other interactive activities, their mothers had the opportunity to rest, connect with one another and reflect on both personal and community sources of support.

The discussion was facilitated by professional psychologist Anna Pustovit, who guided participants through an open and respectful conversation where they could share their thoughts, emotions and experiences in an atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding.

For the children, the event also offered an opportunity to make new friends and spend time with peers facing similar circumstances, helping them feel less isolated in their experiences.

By creating spaces for dialogue, care and solidarity, initiatives like this play a vital role in strengthening community resilience and supporting families affected by the long-term consequences of war.

ALDA warmly thanks Love in Action, the Robohoroshko Development Centre, LDA Mariupol and everyone involved in making this meaningful initiative possible.
