It coordinates and supports the network of 11 Local Democracy Agencies and 3 Operational Partners in their activities. ALDA is now working towards the opening of 3 new Local Democracy Agencies: in Odessa, Ukraine; in Moldova and in Tunisia.
ALDA is also leading several projects and developing partnerships in other European Neighbourhood countries, including Belarus, Azerbaijan, Morocco, and Turkey.
The European Association for Local Democracy is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to the promotion of good governance and citizen participation at the local level. ALDA focuses on activities that facilitate cooperation between local authorities and civil society.
