I-CIVIC Summer Course

I-CIVIC Summer Course: Communities of Practice – Weaving People and Knowledge

As part of the I-CIVIC project, ALDA will participate in the Summer Courses of the University of the Basque Country (UIK), taking place on 1–2 July 2026 at the Miramar Palace in San Sebastián, Spain.

The course, entitled “Communities of Practice: Weaving People and Knowledge”, brings together researchers, educators and practitioners to explore innovative educational models and collaborative learning approaches that strengthen democratic participation and community engagement. The programme combines theoretical perspectives with practical experiences, interactive workshops and discussions on how Communities of Practice can foster educational transformation and professional collaboration.

Representing ALDA, Antonella Valmorbida, Secretary General, will contribute to the discussions within the framework of the I-CIVIC project, sharing ALDA’s experience in promoting civic participation, democratic innovation and cooperation between local authorities, civil society and educational actors across Europe.

The event offers an important opportunity to exchange knowledge with international experts and project partners while reinforcing the role of education as a driver of democratic resilience and active citizenship.
