Citizens Foresight Europe Webinar – Shaping the Future of Local Democracy: Fueling Citizen Visions

On 4 November 2025, the Citizens Foresight Europe Webinar takes place online, offering a collaborative space for reflection and dialogue on the future of European democracy. The event invites citizens, local authorities, and organisations to explore innovative participatory foresight tools that strengthen democratic engagement and local governance.

Organised within the framework of the project co-funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme of the European Union, the webinar will showcase methodologies and results from local foresight activities implemented across Europe. These initiatives have encouraged citizens to imagine and co-create future scenarios for their communities while building stronger links between institutions and civil society.

Speakers and project partners will share key findings from national and local workshops, present practical tools, and introduce the project’s emerging Community of Interest. The discussion will highlight how participatory foresight can help citizens and decision-makers design resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking governance models that reflect Europe’s democratic values.

The event will also present the upcoming in-person conference “Shaping the Future of Local Governance in Europe – Fueling Citizen Visions”, which will take place in Brussels on 9 December 2025. Participation is free and open to all interested stakeholders. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link.
