Sifat joined ALDA in February 2026 as Project Manager Assistant. She is a Bangladeshi national and an international student currently enrolled at the University of Padua. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at the University of Dhaka and is presently pursuing the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programme in Climate Change & Diversity: Sustainable Territorial Development (CCD-STeDe). As part of her Erasmus mobility, she studied at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar in Quito, Ecuador (2025), and attended a Winter School in Kenya (2026).
She is fluent in Bangla (her mother tongue), English, Spanish and Hindi, and has an elementary command of Italian, Japanese and Arabic. A passionate language learner, she has undertaken Spanish courses for several years, including a summer programme at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain, in 2023.
She has a strong interest in research and has contributed to several projects in collaboration with organisations such as the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. Her academic interests include international political economy, gender studies, environmental politics, migration and the circular economy. In winter 2023, she participated in the annual study visit organised by the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), held in Mauritius. Prior to commencing her Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Bangladesh.
In her spare time, she enjoys watching films, reading, painting and travelling.
