Description

The Jan Nowak-Jezioranski College of Eastern Europe in Wroclaw (KEW) is a non-profit organisation founded with the aim of enhancing international cooperation, democracy and social cohesion. KEW is based in a rural area and has strong connections with local government authorities across Poland. Its board of trustees includes representatives of Wroclaw, Gdansk (big cities), Środa Śląska (small town) and Miękinia (village). During its 25 years of existence, KEW has been supporting citizens’ engagement in international affairs and building up societal resilience. KEW cooperates closely with central and local government institutions in Poland, contributing the civil society component to good governance and decision making. It gets its legitimacy through a well-developed network of stakeholders that include universities, communities, youth, media and international partners. KEW has its headquarters in Wojnowice in Lower Silesia, an office in Krakow and a strong presence in Warsaw.
