Institute for Research in Visual and Performing Arts, launched in 2011 by the Institute for Research in Visual and Performing Arts Maribor, explores Maribor’s rich artistic and architectural heritage. Through a detailed web portal featuring historical research, visual guides, and virtual tours, the project makes the city’s cultural legacy accessible to residents, students, and visitors alike.
The Institute itself is a private organisation focused on education, art, and culture, promoting global understanding and democratic values. It collaborates internationally through programmes such as Erasmus+ and the Anna Lindh Foundation. Projects like TREE IN TIME and UNDER THE SAME SKY use art to engage with environmental, migration, and equality issues, while initiatives like EDUCATION FOR EMPATHY foster inclusion and combat peer violence. Their partnership with ALDA helps raise awareness on migration, particularly among young people.
