ALDA mission to Ukraine February 2026

ALDA Mission to Ukraine – February 2026

From 23 to 27 February 2026, ALDA will conduct a mission to Ukraine, marking the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion and reaffirming its long-standing commitment to supporting democratic resilience, local governance and civil society in the country.

The delegation, including ALDA Secretary General Antonella Valmorbida, will hold meetings in Kyiv and Rivne with national and regional authorities, associations of local governments, civil society organisations, international partners and representatives of EU Member States.

The mission will focus on strengthening cooperation with Ukrainian stakeholders, discussing strategic priorities for 2026, and identifying concrete avenues of support in areas such as local democracy, energy resilience, institutional capacity-building and network mobilisation.

In Kyiv, meetings are foreseen with representatives of associations of local and regional authorities, civil society networks and international organisations, as well as with diplomatic representations. The programme will also include exchanges with regional actors in Rivne, reinforcing ALDA’s engagement beyond the capital.

This mission builds on ALDA’s continued work in Ukraine and its broader efforts to support democratic local governance and community resilience in times of crisis.
