BOOST Capacity Building

BOOST Capacity Building and Networking for Subgrantees – Skopje 2025

From 5 to 7 November 2025, the BOOST Capacity Building event will take place in Skopje, North Macedonia, gathering subgrantees and partners of the BOOST project for an intensive three-day programme of training and networking. The BOOST Capacity Building session aims to strengthen local civil-society organisations by enhancing their project management, communication, and outreach capacities across the Western Balkans.

Organised by ALDA, with contributions from Ivana Velkova, Katica Janeva, Simona Slavkova, and Emir Kjorikj, the event focuses on empowering local actors to design and implement community-based initiatives that foster inclusion, youth engagement, and sustainable territorial development. The training will combine practical sessions, interactive workshops, and peer-learning exchanges that address the daily challenges faced by NGOs and local partners.

Participants will explore innovative communication strategies and social-media tools to increase the visibility and impact of their initiatives, as well as participatory methods for improving citizen engagement. Networking sessions will create opportunities for collaboration among organisations from different parts of the region, encouraging cross-border partnerships and sharing of best practices.

As part of the wider BOOST initiative, co-funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and coordinated by ALDA, this activity contributes to building resilient and capable local civil societies in the Western Balkans. The project strengthens the role of grassroots organisations as key partners in local democracy and inclusive development.
