International Democracy Day Brussels Conference 2025

On 18 and 19 September 2025, Brussels will host the International Democracy Day Brussels Conference 2025, a two-day high-level event celebrating democratic values and exploring the future of civic participation across Europe and beyond.

Held in the context of UN International Democracy Day, the conference brings together decision-makers, civil society organisations, researchers, and citizens to assess the state of democracy in a changing world.

ALDA will actively participate in the International Democracy Day Brussels 2025 Conference, contributing its long-standing experience in promoting participatory democracy, local governance, and bottom-up engagement. The programme will feature:

• Inspirational keynotes from European and global democracy advocates

• Panels on civic space, digital democracy, disinformation, and youth participation

• Civil society networking, exhibitions, and public dialogues

This conference is a joint initiative of the European Endowment for Democracy (EED), European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), Carnegie Europe, International IDEA, and the European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP).
