Strengthening the Voices of Remote Places and Rural Areas

On 10 March 2026, the event “Strengthening the Voices of Remote Places and Rural Areas” will take place in Brașov, Romania, in the framework of the ProVote project, which focuses on strengthening civic engagement and democratic participation in European elections.

The initiative aims to promote the participation of young people, women and marginalised groups, particularly in rural and remote areas where access to democratic processes and public debate can be more limited.

Within this context, ALDA will invite three organisations to take part in the project event, contributing to discussions on how to empower local communities and ensure that voices from less represented territories are included in European democratic processes.

The event will provide a space for exchange among civil society organisations and stakeholders working on citizens’ engagement, democratic participation and inclusive electoral processes, highlighting practical approaches to strengthen participation at the local and European levels.
