Maddalena Alberti is an expert in the field of migration, with over 10 years of experience, specialising in the reception and integration of refugees and asylum seekers. Currently she is the executive director for “Associazione ADL Zavidovici”, a non-profit organization that focuses on international cooperation projects and the reception and protection of asylum seekers and refugees in the Province of Brescia.
She graduated in Arabic and Hebrew languages in the University of Venice and specialized in the relationship between migrations and international cooperation in the University of Bergamo. Additionally, her expertise extends to ethno-clinical mediation, and also completed studies in the management of social enterprises with a particular focus on non-profit organizations dealing with migrants in the Università Cattolica di Milano.
Previously she was engaged with the Trento-based association “Trentino con i Balcani” where she served for a two-year mission in Kosovo. She also worked for several Italian municipalities as an expert in migration, designing services, processes and building multi-stakeholder relationships with migrant citizens, as well as promoting inclusion processes and dialogue between local authorities, institutions, and citizens with a migratory background.
