At a glance
This project was developed for and with civil society organizations of Georgia. The project was designed to strengthen the role of regional civil society organizations and their mobilization to support decentralization.
The proposal was based on the idea that local democracy development must be achieved by the Georgian society itself and therefore local civil society organizations must play the role of mobilizers and qualified advocates of Georgian society. This was possible by facilitating bottom-up pressure on the government at the local and national level.
Objectives
The project aims at building the capacity of regional CSOs to monitor local government reforms and represent the interests of local communities at the national level.
