Student Talent Bank was designed to offer relevant high skills and competences about entrepreneurial education to secondary school teachers. The project was conceived to foster teachers’ professional development, manage diversity, early school leaving and increase school engagement, especially in those areas which show a high percentage of ethnic minorities and foreign-born.
The focus of the project was strengthening the profile of school teachers, by enhancing entrepreneurial education and learning with a participatory approach to training; tackling Early School Leaving, by using entrepreneurial education as a method to support teachers to increase student engagement and to enable students to take the future in their hands.
The main challenge of the project was to move from entrepreneurship with a focus on business and new venue creation to a newer trend of entrepreneurship which focuses on enterprising mindset and behaviour. Research shows that entrepreneurship education has an impact on the motivation of the students for their learning process, for the creative learning process, and their participation. It also seems to reduce student drop-out rates. Entrepreneurial education is an empowering method that enables students to take the future in their hands, by promoting learning by doing, self-efficacy, resilience, and motivation.
