On September 30th, 2021, another important institutional meeting took place in North Macedonia, in the premises of the Ministry.

Crowdfunding: thanks to the project AVATAR  “Alto Vicentino Alliance for Networked Action”, it is now possible to participate in a unique training opportunity dedicated to associations, Civil Society organization and informal groups that have a project idea that could be financed through a crowdfunding campaign.

December 29th, 2020 marked a crucial moment for millions of people in the area around Glina and Sisak. Thus, few minutes after midday an earthquake hit the two towns as well as the  the surrounding territory of epicentre, which was only 5 Km from Petrinja.

ALDA Secretary General – Antonella Valmorbida – together with Katica Janeva – Director of ALDA Skopje office and South Eastern Europe Coordinator – visited Kosovo* and North Macedonia on an institutional mission, from September 27th until 30th. Several meetings and events on the agenda, one of which with Emir Coric, ALDA Governing Board Member.

From the 24th to the 26th of September, the municipality of Lavarone welcomed European partners of the project DESIRE and the Rude Awakening. 

In October 2021, ALDA Secretary General – Antonella Valmorbida – will join the second Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF). Organised by the ALDA Member Marmara Municipalities Union, the event gathers experts and professionals from all over the world to discuss the necessity of rethinking the urban space and policies in the aftermath of COVID-19.

ALDA is pleased to announce that the next webinar in the ALDATalks series has been officially scheduled for September the 24th 2021, at 2 pm CEST.

On September 17th 2021, ALDA is organising a special conference meeting to welcome the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2021.

On September 2nd and 3rd, at Hotel Continental in the City of Skopje in North Macedonia, the Regional Best Practice Fair was held, organized by the Balkan Network for Local Democracy. The nature of the event was a hybrid meeting, with participants and presenters both in person and through the zoom platform online. 30 participants joined the event, together with the speakers.

From the 24th to the 26th of September 2021, the municipality of Lavarone will welcome European partners of the project DESIRE and the Rude Awakening.

On the night of July 25, 2021, the Tunisian citizens spontaneously took to the streets celebrating the president’s exceptional decisions of freezing the parliament for 30 days- and voicing their wide support.

The 19th edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) – the biggest annual Brussels-based event dedicated to cohesion policy – will take place from the 11th to the 14th of October under the slogan “Together for recovery”.

On August 3rd, the President of ALDA Oriano Otočan and Vice President Alessandro Perelli visited the Municipality of Brtonigla-Verteneglio, in Croatia.

On July 27 2021, the final conference of the AGREED project – Activating Governance Reform for Enhancing Development, was organised.

From 21 to 23 July the 1st “STAR Project” international meeting took place – in an hybrid form – in Arcugnano, having the onsite participation of 8 European delegations partner of the project coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, The Netherlands. The remaining 6 European delegations from Albania, Germany, Serbia, Czech Republic, Kosovo and Poland attended the international event online.

To inaugurate this new series of in-presence events, we are glad to announce that this year ALDA is taking part into the General Assembly of the “International Association of French-speaking Mayors – AIMF”.

The call ‘City in the Spotlight Awards’ is a great opportunity to showcase the progress made and become a reference example for the whole Covenant Community and beyond!
