The group of Estonian and Belarusian activists established the NGO “Belarus New Way” (Valgevene Uus Tee) in December 2006 as a platform for the support of democratically minded Belarusians in Estonia and for the support of the Belarusian online community “Third Way”. This was the time when the Belarusians involved in the project fell victim to repression by the Belarusian authorities, were prosecuted with long prison sentences for the political satire they created, and were cartoons about life and politics in Belarus. As a result of ten years of work, the organisation has significantly expanded the range of its activities, has acquired its face, becoming the leading project organisation of the Belarusian diaspora in Estonia.
