District 11 City to City Association of Barcelona promoted the creation of the ADL (Local Democracy Agency) in Sarajevo at the beginning of 1996 after the Council of Europe called on the situation in the former Yugoslavia and later when cooperation stabilised in the post-war period. The District 11 City to City Association was created to maintain the bridge of relations created between the two territories and take advantage of the lessons learned in the conflict. Due to reduction of their activities District 11 was forced to temporarily freeze its activities. After some years, they are coming back in new, restructured capacities, ready to start new activities but at the same time, share their „know-how“, our expertise and very rich experience that would, with no doubt, be of great benefit to the ALDA family.
District 11 City to City was a member of ALDA and they are now rejoining the Association.
