The project consisted of hosting 2 volunteers of the European Voluntary Service’s programme for 12 months in ALDA-Skopje. In 2014 there were important historical commemorations and this project responds to the need of contributing to the promotion of peace and European citizenship. Bringing peace, it’s one of the long-lasting scopes of the EU and through this project this goal is maintained by encouraging tolerance, intercultural understanding, and objective remembrance through mobility and youth development.
The two volunteers worked with North Macedonian youngsters and other partners on these topics. The project objective was also to contribute to the professional and personal development of these volunteers: integration in an international team, development of professional skills, improvement of language competences, and many others. This not only contributed to their possibility for employment but also contributed to the creation of responsible and engaged young European citizens.
