REGRANTING

ALDA supports local actions around the world through the regranting scheme

WHAT DOES REGRANTING MEAN?

Regranting is a mechanism through which organisations redistribute part of their project funding to third parties, extending the impact of their activities and supporting local initiatives.

ALDA plays a key role in implementing regranting schemes, particularly under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) framework, empowering civil society and promoting democratic engagement across Europe and beyond.

HOW DOES ALDA REGRANT?

ALDA is among the EU organisations that receive an annual Operating Grant under the CERV Programme, in recognition of its commitment to active citizenship and the promotion of European values and rights across Europe and beyond. This grant supports ALDA’s networking, advocacy, and awareness-raising activities. In addition, ALDA is actively involved in the implementation of several EU- and non-EU-funded projects, that incorporate regranting schemes, thereby further extending support to local actors and civil society organisations.

The Operating Grant

Through the Operating Grant, ALDA supports local actions around the world. The action plan adopts a multidisciplinary approach with three key aspects:

  • An integrated combination of various activities.
  • A multistakeholder approach, targeting different members, partners, and beneficiaries.
  • A focus on citizens with diverse priorities and goals.

ALDA’s priorities include

  • Supporting local communities in facing economic and social crises, responding to current and future challenges like the war in the EU neighborhood, and empowering communities through citizen participation and multistakeholder cooperation.
  • Engaging citizens in the ecological transition (Green Deal), encouraging reflection and action on climate and environmental issues.
  • Combating disinformation in democratic debates, empowering EU citizens to make informed decisions, particularly focusing on the EU Elections this year.

Additionally, the Operating Grant includes a regranting scheme aimed at amplifying the network’s impact at the local level by supporting ALDA members’ local projects.

The Operating Grant 2025

The 2025 edition focused on fostering European citizenship and encouraging inclusive, people-centered local development across Europe as well as a strong link with ALDA’s Thematic HUBs.

The Operating Grant 2024

In 2024 the call was aimed at supporting local and grass-root initiatives in the field of EU values and policies, in order to promote both a sense of belonging to the EU in view of the 2024 EU elections, and a sense of “local ownership” and engagement in the local community.

The Operating Grant 2023
