As ALDA’s engagement becomes deeper stronger in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) area, we are very glad to announce that ALDA, in the person of the EaP regional coordinator Alexandru Coica, is actively engaged within the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (CSF EaP), as far as the Association Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova concerns. 

Today, May 17th 2021, the ALDA Governing Board met online again, paving the way throughout our annual General Assembly, which will take place online on the 25th June in the framework of a week of events ALDA is organising towards the Conference on the Future of Europe.

When it comes to concretely support and fund citizens’ engagement, as well as the implementation of rights and European values, a key tool to bear in mind is the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme – also known as CERV.

On April the 20th 2021, ALDA was invited to join the “Public consultations as a tool of participatory democracy. World practises and standards”.

Thursday and Friday the 22nd and the 23rd of April were two meaningful days for the online introduction of the project VALID – European Towns – Enacting Common Values of Solidarity and Intercultural Dialogue

On Monday, April 26th, on the occasion of the World Democracy Forum (WDF), the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe has organised an online event.

ALDA has been supporting the communication between civil society, local associations and authorities in Tunisia for many years. 

Last March 29th, took place, by videoconference, the “European Stakeholders’ Platform of the Strategy for Innovation and Good Governance at the Local Level” – an important session organised by the Council of Europe to review the state of the democracy and good governance in the CoE-member countries. Such an assessment has been carried out according to the European Label of Governance Excellence (ELoGE) and the 12 principles of Good Governance.

On Tuesday, April 13th – ALDA Secretary General Secretary Antonella Valmorbida has been invited, with other experts, to take part in the Committee of Ministers’ hearing session at the Council of Europe.

Members’ participation and active involvement are two cornerstones of ALDA’s work and the basis of our strength and added value.

We are delighted to hear that Mr. Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, who has been our delegate from LDA Georgia, has been elected as major of Kutaisi.

Intercultural dialogue is a powerful tool and it can be perceived as an instrument of prevention and conflict resolution.

The Balkan Network for Local Democracy – BNLD is launching its new project entitled “CSOs networking for better local democracy in the Balkans”.

ALDA is very honoured to officially announce that Ms. Alina Tatarenko, Head of the Centre of Expertise for Good Governance, in Directorate General of Democracy of the Council of Europe (CoE), has been officially confirmed by the Council’s Secretary General as a member of ALDA Governing Board for the upcoming 4 years.

Decentralised cooperation is one of the key methodologies at the core of ALDA’s actions supporting the development of local communities in Europe and in the Neighbouring countries.

We are pleased to announce that this year, ALDA joins the French network F3E, a network of solidarity and international cooperation actors engaged in the evaluation and evolution of development actions!

Since 2019, ALDA has been engaged in the REF – Réseau Euromed France, a network reuniting French organisations working in the Mediterranean area who share common values and cover a variety of topics.
