From May 31st to June 13th the EU Green Week will take place! Two weeks to raise awareness and knowledge of how pollution affects us all: it is in the air we breathe, in the water we drink, in the land where we grow food.

This year ALDA is very much involved in the framework of the Conference on the Future of Europe (COFOE), which was officially launched last May 9th in the occasion of the “Europe Day” and will land in Strasbourg in 2022.

The 3rd Transnational Meeting organised within the FOREST project took placed both on 15 and 16 April, focusing on the topic of certification and qualification in the forestry sector.

Over the summer, the ALDA office in Strasbourg carried out a special intensive project in the city: “ECO-CHANGE – Active Youth for Global Change”.

On September 16th and 17th, 2020 the second transnational meeting of the FOREST project was held on the topic of “Safety in the workplace in forestry” in the beautiful setting of the Forestry Training Center Pilch in Austria.

Over the last 17 years, the European Week of Regions and Cities is the biggest annual Brussels-based event dedicated to regional policy, has been instrumental in promoting policy learning and exchange of good practices.

The LIFE Metro Adapt project led by the Metropolitan City of Milan (Italy), showcased the promotion of measures to support climate change adaptation in the area, as well as the increase in temperatures and concentration of heavy rainfalls that it is analyzing.

In due completion of our ALDA 20th anniversary webinar series in celebration of ALDA’s 20 years of activity for local democracy, on Wednesday, July 15th 2020we will be honoured to open one last panel revolving on the Mediterranean area and its sustainable cities.

WeWorld GVC has received a grant from the European Commission and it intends to launch an INTERNATIONAL TENDER PROCEDURE.

One of the main strategies that a metropolitan area can implement to improve the effectiveness of climate change adaptation measures is the design and development of the so-called Nature-Based Solutions.

A ‘training of multipliers’ took place from 18 to 20 June 2013 in Brussels, within the project COHEIRS – Civic Observers for Health & Environment, Initiative for Responsibility and Sustainability. The event brought together 55 participants representing 31 organisations from 12 different countries in wider Europe.
