Join the international event on 24-27 May in Schio (Italy), to learn, to share experiences and practices, hopefully leading to greater coordination and harmonization of activities and practices, while benefitting not only the implementation of the project per se, but also the involvement of citizens of small and medium sized cities.

The project P-CUBE – Playing Public Policy is an educational digital game aimed at teaching students, professionals and public officials how decisions are taken in the public sphere by covering the individual elements of the policy making process. 

The Mayor of Wrocław, together with the Metropolitan of Wrocław are supporting an emergency campaign to provide help to people in Ukraine. 

The European Label of Governance Excellence (ELoGE) was introduced in Kosovo during the kick-off event organized on the 6th of April 2022 in Pristina. From a general perspective, this event has to be understood within a broader context, in which ALDA is operating.

In light of this, Club de Madrid, European Partnership for Democracy and International IDEA organise the session “Democracy at a tipping point?”.  This event will focus on identifying mechanisms to improve democracy’s ability to address crises, by exploring three basic pillars of action: responsible leadership, resilient institutions and digital democracy.

We are glad to announce that the Ordinary Annual General Assembly of ALDA will take place on May 6th, 2022, in Strasbourg, within the framework of the Strasbourg Summit.  The event will gather ALDA colleagues, its Governing Board, members and friends, to share the results and achievements of the Association while discussing future steps and strategies.

Palermo hosts the signing ceremony of the “Convention of Rights on the Mediterranean Sea” on Saturday 19 March 2022. Antonella Valmorbida, ALDA Secretary General, will be among the keynote guests at the event.

The 42nd Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe will take place from March 22nd to 24th, 2022, at the Palais de l’Europe, in Strasbourg (France).

Organised by the European Economic and Social Committee, the Transatlantic Relations Follow-up Committee took place on March 16th, 2022, in hybrid format.

The call organised by the Municipality of Gdansk, with the support of European organisations of mayors, including ALDA, last Monday, March 14th, 2022, got a great success in terms of participation, with 200 mayors from the whole continent connected together to support Ukraine and ask for immediate ceasefire.

On 15 March 2022 ALDA colleagues Katica Janeva – Skopje Office Coordinator – and Ivana Velkova – Project Manager – had a meeting with the Mayor of City of Bihac (BiH) Mr. Šuhret Fazlic and representatives from the Municipality.

After the successful initiative promoted by the Municipality of Gdansk to join forces for Ukraine among European Mayors, on March 15th, 2022 ALDA participated to another key meeting organised by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.

During such worrying days for the European continent and for the whole World, ALDA welcomes the initiative launched by its member, the Municipality of Gdansk.

On March 11, 2022 ALDA Secretary General, Ms. Antonella Valmorbida, joined the fourth Plenary of the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE) at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

The Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE), launched last year, was meant to animate the dialogue and reduce the gap between institutions and citizens, by allowing the latter to actively share their ideas and recommendations on the multilingual platform to shape the future of the Union.

Trieste: the headquarters of CEI – Central European Initiative – hosted, on 4 March 2022, the meeting of the international Governing Board of ALDA.

Following the Association’s statement, released right after the Russian invasion, the commitment of ALDA’s Governing Board Members and staff is constant and concrete.

On Wednesday 23rd February 2022  ALDA was in Rome at the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies to discuss the outcome of the BRIGHT project with local and national authorities, NGOs and the civil society!
